Toowoomba Surat Basin business delegation to depart for China

FRIDAY, 21 OCTOBER 2016: Asialink Business will support a 200-strong business delegation departing from regional Queensland to Shanghai on Sunday.

The Access China ‘16 delegation includes businesses from the Toowoomba and Surat Basin region, who will be on the first international passenger flight out of the new Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport.

Businesses in agriculture, health, aged care, energy and resources, tourism, sustainable design and manufacturing will tour business sites in China and build relationships with business leaders in the country on the five-day program.

“We have put together a program utilising our extensive on the ground networks in Shanghai and China more broadly, with meetings and site visits to give businesses an in-depth view and understanding of the opportunities,” said Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise AccessChina project leader Ben Lyons.

Asialink Business CEO Mukund Narayanamurti said the business delegation was an important example of the efforts of local government and business organisations to drive engagement with Asia.

“Organisations like the Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise are leading the way in helping Australia’s SMEs engage with China and other Asian markets.”

“We’re delighted to be an Access China partner, continuing our work in Queensland supporting businesses looking to expand to Asia.”
