Australia & Indonesia: Enhancing Collaboration Across the Agriculture Value Chain

1 March 2023: Do you have an innovative idea that will drive commercial outcomes in the agricultural value chain between Australia and Indonesia? Funding is available for co-investment activities that will boost trade and investment between Australia and Indonesia.

Businesses and organisations are invited to contribute innovative ideas which will be assessed for suitability for co-investment from Katalis. Katalis is a bilateral, government-funded economic cooperation program between Indonesia and Australia established under the Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA). Katalis, with guidance from the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Australia, has recently identified Agriculture and AgTech as a sector/value chain being in the long-term mutual interest of both countries.

We are particularly interested in food and beverage and AgTech, including but not limited to, opportunities relating to meat and livestock, dairy, grains, tropical fruit and nuts, aquaculture and fisheries, downstream food and beverages and consumer packaged goods. Ideas can be related to any part of the value chain between Australia and Indonesia.

Submissions will be assessed, and suitable participants will be invited to a briefing to explain how to develop a concept note. Katalis has investment criteria that will guide selection of any activity for co-investment. Should your idea be relevant, we will invite you to a briefing to learn more about these criteria and next steps.  Successful concept notes will progress to development of a detailed Activity Proposal. If this is approved by Katalis, you will then need to sign an MoU, with a view to commencing the activity in the second half of 2023. Your organisation and other involved parties will be expected to co-invest.
